Hi Guys,

I need to get a brake line made for my Atlas. I've recent swapped out the Atlas front end for a Commando Disc setup. Does anyone know what fitting/thread is used to connect a brake line directly to the caliper. I really don't want to fit the standard rigid steel line as used on the commandos. I'd like to just connect a brake line. Any ideas? Thanks guys.

My notes say 3/8 UNF fine ,straight, 24. So what are you hooking up to on the MC end ?

I am more than likely going to use this nice Honda MC. I stripped the black powder coating off the lever and now it is not a bad match for my clutch lever. It has a 10mm banjo connection and micro switch.

I also have my old Lockheed Norton MC but to be honest its a big ugly thing. (And would need to be sleeved to be of any use).

JonnyMac,

Also check what type of flare is on the end of the hard line. When I did the rear on my MKIII either both or one end ( I don't recall) had a bubble flare as opposed to a regular double flare.

I made my own with two fittings and a couple of feet of braided line....was very simple and very satisfing making your own brake line. Expecially with that new master.

This thread seems like a good place to ask a question about fitting my new madass front brake. There are 4 joints; flexible SS line to master cylindr, flexi line to slider bracket, solid steel pipe to slider and to caliper. Should these threaded joins be simply spannered up, should I use teflon tape or something like loc- tite on the threads??

All opinions gratefully accepted.
