Yeah, It's hard to beat Matt for a no BS buying experience. Now if I could talk him into taking a few days off for a Norton ride..... Jim

Yes, they would normally be 6V 1971-on.

To check, look at the base of the coil, if they are Lucas then they should be stamped "17M6".

12V Lucas coils are stamped "17M12".
 
Yeah, thanks for the further reassurance, now that you quote the stamping "17M6" that's what I remember seeing on them and hoping/assuming that the 6 meant 6 volt
