Hi All, can anyone tell me the avg amount of shims/spacers behind the clutch to align the chain? The reason I ask is because I pulled the trans apart & noticed a lot of sideplate wear on the chain. Put it back together w/out the chain & it seems I need a 1/8" spacer on top of the spacer & 2 .036 shims already fitted.
Anyone going to Sunny Hunny Sunday for NOC
As always thanks in advance for your replies, Paul.

Paul, have you got the top gear box spacer fitted on the correct side of the gear box or fitted at all, and you do still have a circlip on the shaft.

That's exactly what happened to me. Make sure the gearbox spacer is on the clutch side.

I ended up needing no spacers behind the clutch.

Spacer. Recess goes onto the circlip.

Shims would go after the spacer.

Everything is as swooshdaves pictures; ie circlip, spacer(right way round, groove to circlip) & then shims.
