Thought Id treat the old girl to some new steel plates as the old ones had sat in water and had some rust marks, as did the thick outer plate [PO parked the bike under a drainpipe I think...] - but the teeth of the new plain clutch plates and the pressure plate all had to be filed, quite a tedious process, to get them to move freely in the clutch basket [ the old ones moved freely] - has anyone had experience of this problem?
Surely all Commando clutches have the same dimensions?
Looking at the way the new plates are made [stamped, with slight burrs], compared to the old [machine cut?, maybe Surflex] it looks like a cheaper product. Andover I'm sure wouldnt knowingly sell a plate that would require filing so can anyone shed light on this problem?
