Not sure if it’s just me but when I click on the “Resources” link I don’t seem to be able to access the content. I suspect it might be user related. . However, any direction would be appreciated. I found the Old Britts articles really useful when they had their own site.

No specification in the torque section in the workshop manual.
From the look of the damage done to various lockrings by "those who came before", I think the torque spec is the largest hammer and cold chisel they could find in their tool box.

I have the purpose built tool - it has a 1" A/F hax on it, so it will take a significant sized wrench. The name of the game is having the actuator body in the correct orientation when tightening (another time where having 3 hands would be helpful). Thread preload is not the important thing here - tightening it sufficiently to resist coming loose due to vibration is the goal. With that said, if you are concerned about it, applying thread locker is maybe good insurance (not that I ever have).
