Clutch inspection time

I had planned to re-use the shoulder bolts when I swap the ring gear over Tony, but to dowel following Richards procedure. May see if I can find new shoulder bolts also 👍.

From messages exchanged with Judd it seems they may not have full integration to Norton’s parts system (referred to as their EPC - Electronic Parts Catalogue). Nicole referred to ‘mocking up a parts order’.

May be wrong, but you’d expect full integration? Not sure, but a copy of the full parts catalogue would be gold - not achievable of course. Nicole was super helpful though, which is a real bonus.

Would you have been able to place this order and get this far emailing them only ?

I don’t see why not Tony. Nicole was pretty efficient, responding to each of my emails the same day (given time zones). She did’nt seem the type to ignore a written spares request. There was no hesitation when it came to the legacy situation - it did’nt even register.

In a perfect world we’d be able to order stuff online with a few clicks and receive premium (consistent) service; products to the door within days. To state the obvious though, there are people and processes involved at Judd & Norton for mgmt, sorting and distr. Parts movement - Norton to Judd (or other dealer) to purchaser. I guess there’s gonna be delays and maybe mistakes.

Delays are one thing, ghosting is another if this has occured. Phone numbers for the parts department are available though - as are their supervisors. Fair enough if people decide they can’t be bothered with that and source from elsewhere though (Stu/Ollie etc).

I always ring ahead first - much more difficult to ignore someone you’ve spoken to. Especially if you know he’s likely to call back! Squeaky wheel’n’all!

Thanks for your response. I have an email in to Judd Racing and hopefully Monday they will answer my request.

Don’t know which email address you’ve sent it to Tony - info@juddracing.com?

If you don’t hear back within a few days (I’d leave it 4 or 5) ask for an update of the same email address and include nicole.szatkowska@juddracing.com to get directly to Judd (Parts) - or you may be waiting in multiple queues.

No response - same period - pick up the phone👍.

I also contacted Judd Racing directly about the clutch basket assembly listed on their website and received a reply from Nicole in their parts department.

Unfortunately, she confirmed that the listing was incorrect. They do not currently have a confirmed price/availability based on that listing.

Nicole has offered to contact Norton directly to check the current price and estimated lead time/availability for the clutch basket assembly.

Yep, that makes sense Jansen. My purchase uncovered that to be the case and was the reason for the confusion on price/configuration. Still don’t know whether I’ll receive a Clutch Basket Assembly (minus internals) or the full clutch.

Nicole will follow up no doubt and we’ll see how Norton plan to configure/price clutch parts. You have movement though which is good news. Let’s hope that continues 👍.

I hope this works out for all our sakes.

It’s 2026 and the miscommunication and lack of understanding between Norton and Judd is crazy. Clearly Norton still don’t have their game together.

It’s worse than that. I am receiving push back now from Judd about ordering parts. It’s the same story about we didn’t build that bike etc. so we can’t sell you parts from Norton. I asked about the parts waiver for fitment issues and still waiting to hear back. It’s not looking good for me at the moment .
