Peter ... not sure of your location ... but in Canada there was a gent Dave Saurerburg ( since passed away ) out west ... his business was taken over by an equally excellent craftsman ... sorry I don't have his contact info ... maybe if some one does they could post it up ... Dave S. did my clocks going on 10 years ago and no troubles yet ...

I dithered on getting mine done (not good shape at all), and finally bought one of each on ebay, speedo and tach, and the cables from Andy Henderson , http://www.vintagebritishcables.com/. He is in Medicine Hat, Albert, Canada.

Now I am in the middle of a restoration that will be some time before I can use them, at the rate I go, so I can only comment on how they look. To me very, very nice. As far as working well I do not know (we will see). However this gentleman has 191 positive ebay feedback, none bad. I would think for big buck items like this, if he did not do well, there would be some negative feedback.

And he set my speedo to 2221.2, just at the number shown on the basket case I have. He was very agreeable via e-mail, I never spoke to him.

Hi Craig, maybe this is the dude?

Yeah ... it sounds like he could be the man ...I'm still looking for the business card that came with rebuilt clocks ... I had got contact info from Brit Cycle here in NS ... and I did read in a Canadian bike magazine about a new fellow taking the existing business and carrying it on ... thanks
Craig

Bit late, but in response to the original query about speedo repairs in the UK, I've used Peter Bond several times with great success.
From his web page (http://www.guagerepairs.com):

Peter Bond can be contacted on 0208 289 9031, or 07780 908833, and guageman1@gmail.com
He's based in London, but I don't have his address to hand.

/Steve in Denmark.

Given that he's used it for both his url and email address, I'm surprised that he can't spell 'gauge' - I know it's him and not you as I've checked his website, and it's the same there!
