How do you clean into a fiberglass tank that is not used by 30 years and that was abandoned without cap?.
Keep in mind that this tank has never contained ethanol.
Ciao.

It depend on the internal condition.

If it isn't too dirty, I would thing soap and water might be OK. No need to over clean when not needed.

I have shaken (scosso) the tank with some acatone to prepare it for futher coating but that should not be needed for your tank.

Keep in simple and only do what is needed to get the results you want.

Hi Pete,
What does it means acatone??
I cannot able to tanslate.
Ciao.

Mine was empty for years. It looked clean, so I just put some mineral spirits (kerosene, paint thinner, etc) in it, cleaned it out, dried it and use non ethanol gas. I doubt if you need acetone unless you intend to coat the inside with caswell's or similar. Acetone will melt the fiberglass.
