I had my tach and speedometer professionally rebuilt.
Not cheap
I found out about cheap purchasing my first set of sockets when I was 12 spending my hard earned lawn cutting money on BUFFALO brand aka cheap Chinese junk.
Socket split first use and demolished my knuckle.
All Craftsman and Snap On after that lesson.
Cheap is more than a waste of money.

I bought a cheap Indian unit for my r69s pending the repair of the original… it’s been working fine for the past 5 years but lacks a trip meter.

At some point I’ll get the correct one mended.
 
Even if the Indian knockoffs work, are they accurate? Speed cams are multiplying like the rats they are.

These ones are accurate
As far as I know they are made in Japan

The 12 point Craftsman sets from the 70's are the best tools I own. I have a little 1/4" Snap On rachet I found on the street in my tool backpack, but never felt like buying Snap On would make me a better mechanic. 🤣
 
50 years ago SnapOn made good tools. Now they are still ok but way expensive. You can get good cheap tools now. Flank drive still is effective though. So much has changed with tools as it is all battery guns and digital stuff.
I am older than my bikes and that is saying something. :-(
 
I had a cheapy small screwdriver set in high school. Unfortunately they were not gasoline proof and would dissolve in my hand.
