A Moaner? That's funny as his name did spring to mind when writing that comment. I hope you've had the oxyacetylene torch on the frame to correct the head angleIs it one of A Moaners bikes?
Your avatar suggests otherwise, Nigel! Though wouldnt Mallory be closer to you?Yeah I’m looking forward to trying it out. I’ve ridden one very similar, and was very impressed by it, obviously !
95 bore, short stroke, 4 valve head, 6 speed TTI, K-Tech front and rear, blah, blah. Yes, I may have gone a bit extreme with the brakes, but after being spoiled by the set up on the Seeley, I didn’t want to be disappointed !
Out at Cadwell with it soon.
I expect the bike to be fine… more than fine… and can confidently predict what the bottleneck to lower lap time will be…!
Very nice.
Was bespoke for a race bike years ago, now promoted to generic !Very nice.
Looks like a heavy front wheel, but the most interesting thing in shot is sitting on the seat!
Yes, that's where a lot of my tools end up whilst working, on the seat. Is this a bespoke fit for this bike?, or generic for your stable?
I KNEW IT!My experience with ceramic header coatings is they don't stay all black and pretty more than 3 years on an air cooled engine, and that is on a street bike. However, it's been a really long time since the header pipes on my Norton were coated with ceramic paint by a header builder. Technology has probably advanced some in 40 odd years and is a little better. Good luck with the zircotec ceramic coating work. It looks good.
I could be a negative only comments AI bot.![]()
Paint over the top of it with exhaust paint Ashley.I used zircotec years ago and yes, they did a good job. However, I just had plain steel exhausts and silencers coated which is not ideal as the coating is porous and if the pipes get wet then the rust will be seen through the coating. Best to get stainless coated or at least chrome plated, they can do either. Thing is the coating on my exhausts and silencers is still intact though it has a rusty hue coming through.
Is there a race class for Manx Nortons which permits disc brakes ?
Yes.Is there a race class for Manx Nortons which permits disc brakes ?
I don't know Nigil your motor don't look as far forward and hope you have the tail sorted out, more tail/less tail and setting up a bike different to the real experts then you might get it right following Al's advice and you won't know till you crashed a few times as Al always say.I just followed the advice of Acotrel…
Given there are several race classes in at least 10 different countries around the world where Manx Nortons are raced. Then yes.Is there a race class for Manx Nortons which permits disc brakes ?
You sound like you can't decide if you're Jim or his wife!In NZ looking at the age periods and classes the answers would be no, no, yes and yes.![]()
