Hey Guys.
Are CCM bikes any good? I’ve heard of them but never really followed them, but the Foggy Spitfire has my attention.

I can’t find any info on engine, weight.

A mate of mine has got one and loves it. To my eye they are a tad contrived though. But I doubt they’d suit a fella with a ‘largish frame’ like mine anyway! Do you know if they even sell them in the US?

Anyway, they’re a 600cc single, the Foggy has a claimed 62bhp and a dry weight of 142kg.

Its all here: https://www.ccm-motorcycles.com/bikes/foggy-edition-spitfire/

I've seen a couple here in the states. One a big single and a Triumph twin dirt bikes. I loved them!

I love it. Gorgeous. “Contrived” is a bit strong but yeah I don’t want to pay for Foggy’s signature.

Similar to my ‘03 KTM 525 EXC with two sets of wheels. My favorite bike (if Norton is down, of course) with the SM wheels when we’re heading for the So Cal canyons. Also very light, supposedly 260 pounds and 60’ish HP.

I’d like to try a set of 19” wheels on the KTM. I know they would be better than the 17” donuts - better gyros for the lower average speeds I see in the canyons. Flat trackers’ feet up slides are easier with 19s than 17s at 60 or 70 mph. Donuts are better at triple digits - easier to turn but still gyros st high speeds.

I’m not knocking them chaps! It’s just my personal taste, that’s all.

Probably influenced by the fact some mates used to race ‘original’ CCMs 608cc 4 valve monsters when I were a lad. Those things had so much grunt they only had 3 speed gearboxes. The things would wheelie away, yanking on your arms like a drag bike whilst the motor is going BOP... BOP... BOP... surreal...

IF you could kickstart it.

They looked liked the one in the t’internet pic below, but for full effect, add the grey dampness of the north of England in winter... the smell of coal slag heaps intertwined with Castrol R... and a Joy Division soundtrack... them were t’ days...

As an early buyer, Scrambler version, it's a great fun machine. Brings out the inner hooligan when ridden, as basic as a bike can be these days but technically up to date. All round a lovely lightweight bike.
