I was installing carb manifolds on an 850 and noticed the four studs that mount the carbs were not in alignment. Stock parts and in good shape but the left carb now sits slightly higher than the right side. No big problem but curious. So, from the factory they're off.

I have a pair of new NOS intakes for my 850 MKII, the special ones that taper from 32 to 30 mm. One of them is ground at the wrong angle where it meets the head, and the carbs sit about 1/8 inch closer together, which made my fuel line not fit without kinking the bottom hose between the carbs. Pissed Me Right Off.

The inlet manifolds are not a handed pair.

It is two pieces with the same part number for use on the left or the right.

Jigs wear, operators if they can't be arsed carry on using the worn out jigs.
