Carb Drain Bolt Leak

Several folk have reported exactly that !

There have also been reports of burrs on the float tang preventing the needle from seating correctly. I looked at mine and they were indeed quite rough stamped parts (considering their application). Dressing with fine files and emery definitely advised.
Or replacement with plastic !
Yes, my replacement float spindle had a burr just where it sat on the float bowl. It caused it to stick and overflow. But, it wasn't apparent until the bowl was screwed into the carb body, putting pressure on it. Filed it off and all was good. The method of float level adjustment on the stay-ups is a bit agricultural. Getting the right bend takes patience, as there is some elasticity in the metal.

Thanks for answers. Thought it was prob me setting new floats wrong. Will try again. Did clean burr off float but not spindle.

You could also clean up the brass seat with a dremel brass or nylon brush attachment.
That once solved a leaking float valve problem for me.

Just adjusted rt float again. No leak from tickler; tightened drain screws & will replace washers soon. Some elec issues to work on. 1st pointless bike- single coil ; 1st 850.
About 50 mile ride this afternoon, a little chilly at 50deg. - gotta find the longjohns.
Thanks for all help.
