Onto a better note. :D I told you the story of the Pete Turner engine seizure but I failed to mention another Norton that needed trailering back to the campsite on the Peaks of the Otter picnic run. Pierre had a funkie chicken feeling while riding and was able to stop in time from a bad situation. Back at the pavilion we put the wood crossbeams to good use. Notice the cooler and engine refreshment center in the background. That was for Thursday – Friday night.

I pulled out what was needed from my kit: tire irons, pump, patch kit and soap and Pierre rummaged into his tool bag for what’s needed to remove the front wheel.

Pete’s blue broken combat in the background and mine on the very end.

The offending parasite.

We removed and patched the tube and tested it after pumping it up. Recording the pressure, and we left the bike hanging till the next morning and retested the tire pressure to make sure it was holding.

All good and a happy ending in less than an hour’s work we were dinning together, from the ONO’s and the NYNOA’s. Happy Trails 8) PS I want to start another thread on all you long distance riders on what you carry in that secret squirrel box of parts and tools.
Cheers,
Thomas

We stopped to help Pierre at the motel @ the Peak. Glad to see he made out OK. We left after his wife showed up. Of course I had left my can of Fix a Flat in the trailer.

Are you talking Peaks of Otter on the Blue Ridge Parkway?
