Getting started here. I'm confused about the locations of the handlebar switch clusters. The owners manual has the blinker and kill switch on the right. My shop manual schematic for a 71 model has them on the left. Which is it?
This pic has nothing to do with that but I just wanted to show how much room I get to work with, using a lithium battery.

Mine are on the right. If you are building from scratch I would say to do as you please. But consider that often coming into a turn, you are using the clutch but not so much throttle, so flipping the indicator switch with your throttle hand is probably easier.

Yep can wire as desired and no accounting for tastes, but I like the kill and the winkers on the clutch side and lights on the throttle side. No one in their right mind should be working signals while manveuring a turn, do it before the hands more occupied. I of course don't give signals much respect but white glove hand signals I do. My bud Wes has no signals neither so is more animated to indicate turns or slowing too.

OK, They did it both ways and I get to choose. I like options.
Thanks for the support.

Left for indicators & you dont have to let go of the throttle , with the 12 in. thumbspan switches .
The switchblocks are fully dismantleable & rebuildable .

Id used the red push as a kill switch ( ign. ) ' Ground ' ( 2MC Cap only - no Bat . )

&

bridged a blade switch ( wire to contact over the other side ) so the blade was a ' center on ' Kill Switch .

only knocked it off once or twice , diesel brake effect with no ign. while youre admireing the sceneary
makes you jump .

P.S. it can pay to stick to Std. colour codeing . Hillman Hunter ( Chrysler Cicket' s ) have good heavy wire & fittings that seem to last .

this is usefull for things like starter solinoids , oil pressure switches / lights , lamp beams etc etc .

Or a Mk IV Zepher has enough wireing in it , some somewhat heavy duty , isolateing switches & other wonders , to wire up a few Aircraft Carryers , Id Think .

by 74 & the Mk II Escorts Capris & Mk III Cortinas theyed changed to the New Euro standard colour codes , & thinner jap inspired minimalist rateings .
The Mk IV will provide the greatest amout of heavy duty wire , the hunter good quality H D & fittings / sheaths , AND some of its switchgear is interchangeable ,
or the bits inside of them .
