Wow what a suprize, the bracket that bolts the header pipe to the engine mount / frame atachment broke (again.) I
thinking that there must be a kind of standard way the guys & gals who rode the Victors hard in the dirt modifide there's & I would like to know how they did it. I'm thinking of (1) making it thicker,, (2) putting a second one to the other side of the engine mount . (3) well haven't got to #3 yet but why isn't the head threaded or something. I don't want to drill holes for springs but I can see why some do. Ant thoughts???

The reason they break is the engine is loose in the frame or stress on the bracket. With the nut removed is there space between the frame lug and the inside of the bracket ? If so make a spacer so there is no stress on the bracket. I have a B44SS that I have ridden several thousand miles with no brakage.

If the engine is moving in the frame the bracket will break regardless.

I have a B44 powered Cheney and use springs to retain the head pipe with no issues.

Thanks. Engine seems tight and there is a spacer that now that I have welded it back on the bracket seems to fit well. It had broken on the P.O. And I think maybe they hadn't tried to get it aligned well last time. I'm still thinking of putting a ring around the pipe with a beaker to each side instead of one. We will see...
