These days I try to avoid working on my Seeley because for every nut there are three spanners and two of them don't fit. And the Allen keys are similar. A while back I found titanium fasteners which were old aircraft spares, so now the bolts on my bike are Whitworth, UNF and Metric in several different sizes. And I have a tray full of different size spanners and sockets and keys - it is like playing with a jigsaw puzzle.

I forgot to mention. When I fitted the TTI box, I made two threaded shafts out of titanium for the top and bottom mounts. When you thread titanium it tends to grow as you machine it, so I ended up using for slightly coarse threaded UNC nuts - another size to cope with.

I'd be curious about any of those sizes on a Commando ?

I just bought an 11/32 UNF ring spanner, and its tiny !!
Its very close in size for 1/8 W - Enfield rocker gear has this miniscule size.
I'm not aware of anything on a Commando that small (something in the points housing maybe ?).

You'd need things a fair bit bigger to do any Commando engine work.

Snap-on may not make W/BS in the US anymore, but Acesa, In Spain, is actually owned by Snap-on, and make very high-quality tools. I've got a set of their combo wrenches, along with a Snap-on 7/16BS short combo and a Craftsman 1/2W-9/16W ring spanner (box wrench). My Brother-in-law actually found those last two in garage sales, and didn't realize what they were until I started working on my P11 (which is all W/BS). My sockets are Ko-Ken, but Acesa make sockets, too.
