British Motorcycle Parts NZ

Had a chat with the owner (Tim) the other day in regards to Commando timing chains and on where and what company he sourced his parts from....He said 99.9 % of parts for Norton all comes from Andover Norton... good news 👏
Yes I have met him too and he seems a good bloke.

Coincidently the guy who owns the other main NZ supplier British Spares in Nelson is also called Tim. He is also a good guy and I have known him more than 20 years. He bought British Spares from Dallas Rankin who built the firm up to a major international supplier. The British Spares Tim is a good bloke but can occasionally be a bit disorganised and forgetful. If you ever have an issue don't worry. He is not doing anything bad. He just forgot. 🤣🤣🤣

I split my purchases between both companies and hopefully this helps to keep both in business.

Back in the day when Brit Spares was in Wellington the service was Absolutely Brilliant in the days of "Dallas" I visited there a few times and couldn't get over the rows & rows of parts...and yes I know what you mean about forgot 😀
We got the best of both worlds Brit Spares in the South & Brit Parts in the North...We probably should have shares in both companies with the amount of dosh we have spent over the years fixing up our own and others bikes...I think in this day in age we gotta support local business as much as we can...on ya mate 👍
User friendly web sites helps alot...which I see lacking with some suppliers

John Saywell worked for Dallas for many years and is still on call for Tim. John did the engine on both my bikes and has excellent technical knowledge of our old machines. I go visit him in Stokes Valley every few weeks. Bikes I have seen there recently include BSA twins, Nortons, twins and singles, all sorts of Triumphs, an ABC, Vincent's including an Egli Vincent. Ducati 750, BMWs, various AJS and Matchless bikes. Plus a few random things like suspension units and Lagonda car bits. He is slowly retiring and mostly does engineering one off work now. Not full bikes.
