I haven't used it but the air cooled Porsche guys like it because of the high zinc content. It would make sense that it would be a good choice for Commandos too since both are 60's or earlier technology engines and air cooled.

I'd say the Norton is more like 30s era technology. :mrgreen:
 
I've been using Brad Penn (20W50 4-stroke MC oil) on my Combat and also 3 Matchless singles '51 - '66, and they really like it. It is the old Kendall "Green stuff" that I've used in the Norton since new.

I have been using Brad-Penn for about 5 years - in all my bikes and love the stuff - not to outrageous priced - though i do have to mail order it now that I'm in NY. When i stripped my norton down this past summer the bottom end required nothing. Looked great including the cams- has about 60K on it.
Go for it-good stuff!
