My pipes were black when I got my 750 , my timing was not correct, not enough advance , View attachment 96232 it's really easy to bring them back to shinny chrome , buy some cheap felt discs to go on your angle grinder , get a fine finishing polishing bar type Rouge or even some autosol works great , so easy. Cheers .
What brake disc do you have there?
Cheers

Several years ago, we pulled up next to an air cooled modern Bonneville, and the first two feet of the headers were bright purple. Dear wife even pointed it our saying something must be wrong. Who know what was done to the carbs or airbox. Maybe severe extended idling it hot weather. Looked awful.

I had a 2009 Bonneville SE. Lovely bike, but needed the typical help: Air box mod, O2 sensor delete, air injection delete, Triumph TORS peashooters, and a custom tune downloaded from Triumph Twin Power. The thing just came alive. When That was complete, I used Blue-Job to bring the headers back to a good looking gold. Commando like coloring. They were not purple like the bike mentioned above, but blue enough to polish up and improve a bit.
