Blazing saddles seat up for grabs

I ordered the wrong seat from Phoenix Motorcycles in Smethwick (eBay). I picked the “small type” and the tabs don’t fit around frame.

Shipping back is a little crazy so let me know if anyone is interested. It’s beautiful.

Can someone confirm that I need the “large type” before I order another?

Large and Small refer to Interstate Vs Roadster. Both are same width, it's the length and position of tabs that differ. If the tabs don't fit then the seat is wrong as the frame is the same width at this point regardless of the variant. Do not waste time and money buying the large.
 
The small seat that you are referring to is for a Roadster Commando. What I would do is just bend those tabs until it fits your bike. That is what I had to do with both Roadster and Interstate seats that I bought from Andover Norton. I even had to file the slot in the tabs on the Interstate seat so that it would sit down on the rubber pads properly. Those tabs are made of mild steel and easy to bend.

We need a photo of the tank on the bike to work out what seat you need as there is four to chose from roadster, fast back, interstate or longrider ( interpol style).
 
Do not order more parts until you figure out what you own. Post a photo here and people will help you out. Serial numbers help for year, but every frame can be built as a roadster, interstate, hi-rider, fastback, etc.

I don’t run alcohol in my old bikes. Still shopping for a steel tank for the resto.

Sounds like I may be able to use this seat.
 
You guys probably think I’m an idiot. I should have told you in my first post.

I bent the tabs.

Now who wants the Corbin Gentry that came off?
