Bike won’t start on the Paddock stand? and even more weird stuff.

Sorry Tony, I must be thick... I’ve never looked inside a tilt sensor, so any changes are not obvious to me!

By ‘fixed’ do you mean repaired?

Or do you mean it’s ‘fixed’ to by pass the tip sensor functionality?

Is it something you’ve made / modified yourself from a stock Norton part, or something available off the shelf?

I don’t relish the thought of making my own internal circuits, I was hoping to find an off the shelf plug n play device that would bypass or disable the tilt cutout functionality.

Looks like the sussed unit has the magnetic pendulum assembly removed, and fixed hard wired connections in its place to eliminate tip tripping.

Yes and Yes . I may be able to help you there but the new bikes will be more difficult . With the Omex you have a 5 wire tip over sensor unit. It incorporates the side stand and the neutral switches. And most of all I don't have one to experiment with. For now the cheat is in for the SC ECU with the 3 wire tip over sensor. Put the resistors right where I did , and cut out the other components on the board . If someone would like to send me one , I will take it apart and have a look. I think iwilson will be able to help because he had a New Omex upgrade which he is not currently using .. But he can help us with the wiring !

If you have a new bike it is probably easier and safer to just buy a new spare unit for troubleshooting .

I'll take a look.

Tony,

I wonder.
If the SC ECU is unlocked, are there settings for the tip over switch that can be disabled?
Can you eliminate the switch functionality programmatically?

Good Morning Paul , Your fix will prevent the pendulum from swinging and provided the internal IC's aren't breaking down this should work .

I have no idea . iwilson or lcrken may know about this. But a good idea..

WOW , So you've got a tilt switch AND a tilt switch/neutral switch/clutch switch solid state assembly (it looks solid state filled with epoxy). The part that says UP on it we know how to deal with and verify. Does everybody with a New Bike have this setup ? With a separate tilt switch and a solid state assembly ? You will need 2 , 150 Ohm , 1/2 watt resistors . Why is the tilt switch (part that says UP) not visible in some of the photos ? Your fuse box layout is different than mine also. And yes you have the New OMEX ECU .

Not visible because the ECU was in the way. I unplugged it and slid it out because I thought I saw what looked like a device that you pictured earlier and lo and behold there it is. I unplugged it (it seemed to be fine) and plugged it back in again. Went for a short spin and bike is running fine now.
Do you really think these are the issue ? If so I want one of those cheater plugs.

You can make your own cheater . Get those resistors and solder them in the way I did. OR , you can order a cheater from Schintz Racing , but I can't vouch for the plug fit . It could be any one of those connections man ! Order a new tip over sensor like me and take your old one and convert it to fixed resistors like I did. Its clean and pretty simple . Then you will have a back up. Anyway you have helped me answer a lot of questions I had about the new bikes . Now we just need input from Euro 4 owners to complete this.

I don't need a cheater. My bike went down and kept running till I hit the kill switch.

The more I think about it I want to keep the tilt sensor operational. Bike only has 700mi. I don't really know what happened on Saturday but it was running fine yesterday evening. Maybe unplugging everything such as the ECU and tilt sensor and rechecking all the fuses reset everything?. Another day in the saddle is needed.
