First start on 850 rebuild bike started first kick and ran well everything good Idle was too high so went to shut switch off and Bike kept running at about half the speed Pilot light was flickering. Key would not shut bike off so I took ground wire off the coil to shut it down. I am using the original ignition switch and I suspect that may be the problem Any thoughts Thx Drummer 99

Test, don't guess. Use a test lead to supply power to the ignition INSTEAD of the switch. Turns off when you pull the wire off? Has anything been modified with the original wiring?

Thanks for the reply I just double checked all my wiring When I rewired I wired the Boyer direct to the ignition and bypassed the kill switch I dont know how this would affect it but I have now wired the boyer thru the kill switch I have confirmed that it breaks the circuit to the boyer but so did the ignition switch when I shut it off I will let you know if it makes a difference Thx

If you mistakenly wire the output from the reg/rect to the ignition pole circuit on the switch, the motor can continue to run after the switch is turned off.
Schwany thx thats exactly what I did I went back over it and found the mistake and corrected it Now shuts off normally Thx Drummer99
