Better pistons

Why do pistons benefit from having a high heat conductive copper crown?

I thought the opposite was desirable in tuned engines, hence the use of ceramic thermal barrier coatings etc ?
 
The process is very interesting, but I shudder to think of the price tag on the finished component. Even done on Earth, this is never going to be reasonably priced kit.

Well then I wasn't alone in wondering about the heat sink...
I posted to this just because it was different and interesting.
