Why do pistons benefit from having a high heat conductive copper crown?

I thought the opposite was desirable in tuned engines, hence the use of ceramic thermal barrier coatings etc ?

The process is very interesting, but I shudder to think of the price tag on the finished component. Even done on Earth, this is never going to be reasonably priced kit.

The Mahle site is difficult to negotiate. There are probably some there which will fit Commandos. They would have to be the strongest and lightest, ever.
