Guys,

What is the best twist grip that works with the Stock Norton cables? I have the JS Motorsports Carbs and a stock twist-grip. It's not exactly difficult to twist the throttle, but compared to my modern bikes, it's a lot stiffer. I would love to have an easier twist action... don't know if it would be improved with a different assembly or not.

Your thoughts?

I too have the JS carbs, and I believe Jim Schmidt is shipping new orders with the slightly strong gold slide springs.

The first few batches of carbs came with the silver springs and it was found that a strong throttle return was more desirable.

I find the gold spring to be just fine, but I suggest you get a faster action throttle that will open the slides without having to turn your wrist so much as the stock norton throttle, this may help your perception.

It does seem to help to remember to occasionally lube the inner cables with for example a graphite lube, both the two lower cables coming out of the carbs and also the single cable going to the throttle.

What about the TOMMASELLI quick action twist grip?

I have a Tomaselli twin pull 1/4 turn throttle on the Rapide, it has worked well and is nicely made.
It is connected to twin amal concentrics, same as on a Commando.
