Belt drive / alternator question

I spent over a year on the homemade wind power forum trying to design a thinner alternator to make room for the 40 mm belt and Drouin mount not to leave ~1/2" gap in seal area to get a fair understanding of magnetic flux conduction paths to assure ya that the stators laminates and strength of rotor field is plenty not to worry about ideal rotor centering in stator. I gave up on DIY alternator so still have mystery to solve driving a starter size alternator behind the barrel. I think I can do it by turning alternator opposite crank rotation but don't know it that'll mess with balance on low traction states in turns. Closer rotor is to pulley the less crank end whip to worry on red line risking fun.

All done boys, stator spacers shortend properly by my mate-with-a-lathe. Got approx 0.040" clearance between stator and pulley. Rotor is off centre by approx 3/16 to stator. Everything is as far inboard as possible now, so minimal stresses and crank flex. And I can get a 0.010" feeler gauge all the way round the rotor.

Gents,

My bike is fitted with a Norvil belt drive kit, that I'm very happy with and intend to re-use.
Hi, I am trying to find a replacement belt for this unit. Does anyone have the exact size including length?

Thanks,

George

You need to contact Norvil. They sell many different kits, with different sized front and rear pulleys and relevant different belt lengths. They'll be able to sort you out.

On my belt drive which is an RGM so this may not be relevant but the spacer fits inside the pulley to stop the outer keeper plate (gold plate in your picture) bending as nut is torqued up.
