before I drop in the oil tank, can someone verify my hose routing. pretty sure it's the way it came apart. the oil hose clip mounts to the forward, lower, support bracket bolt, and as I recall there was only one hose through the clip. the parts book shows two hoses, but I don't have two hoses in the vicinity of the clip, so there's no way for two hoses.

i'm finding that the 3/8-24 X 2.00 support plate bolts a bit too short - barely have one thread showing, if that - probably closer to flush. seems to me, 2.25 would be a whole lot better. i even had to eliminate the nut side washer to accommodate the hose clip. I had bag and tagged the hardware, so I seem to have an extra washer. one line that I have a concern is the return line - from the filter to the tank - seems a bit short, snug, and a tight fit - pic 3. anyone else have this short bolt problem or hose routing? pretty much assembled per the parts manual. thanks in advance....

Before the spin-on oil filter was introduced (during mid-'72) then both lines would have passed through the clip as drawn on the diagram.

However, for '72 it seems they simply added the oil filter assembly in a convenient empty space on the drawing instead of in a more accurate position so the drawing still shows both lines passing through the clip! This is the 1973 parts book diagram (below) as the '72 parts diagram has the oil filter drawn on the wrong (feed) line!

If the oil tank has the 'long' rigid return tube then it's probably alright if approximately 12" long.

The oil lines are also marked incorrectly on the parts book drawings (but listed correctly) and AN has not spotted the error either (or can't be bothered to correct it) as the returns (x2) are 12" part 06.3144 not "Feed".

Edit: AN has since deleted the incorrect "Feed" and "Return" descriptions after they were informed of the error but their '73 parts diagram still shows incorrect feed and return hose lengths.
