Before / After oil pump rebuild (lapping) pressure

No oil pressure gauge on mine . No oil shut off valve . Many miles and no work to renew pump , regular oil changes . 2 bolts torqued to spec with good gasket .
I lapped mine a couple of years ago.
I have an oil pressure gauge
Cold start oil pressure maximum went from 20 psi to 40 psi.
I thought the pressure relief valve went bad!
Warmest idle oil pressure from 4 psi to about 10 or 12 psi.
But on really hot days this summer, idle can go down to 5 psi on a run with speed.

I've put together 3 motors now and blanked off the oil spit hole in the rods. Very good oil pressure and no problems. It would also be possible to blank off the right side rod and leave the left open if one worried about excess oil pressure. So far, about 12 - 15 psi at hot idle. Any ideas?
