Beautiful Redneck Bonneville

I believe that this is correct for that year Bonneville. This bike is part of the Sullivan collection and he has over 100 of the finest Triumphs in this country.

I don't believe that this is "Rube Goldberg" ..... it's the way they used to do em' at the factory!
 
Many different models of Triumph had this breather tube as standard. It is D-shaped to fit the contour of the mudguard/fender.

Wow... it sure looks cheesy. I was surprised to see such a well restored bike with a tube running down the side of the fender. I think I'd find another way to do it even if it made it less than stock.

They were going for stock with all the warts.
 
Other bikes of this vintage ran the vent under the fender. P11s, for example :wink:
 
Like I said in the other thread, one thing you can KNOW FOR SURE - ANY bike in the Sullivan collection is as close to perfect as you will find.
