Fair enough. I do but that's not to say I would pay the current price let alone a potential higher one in the future.
I don't think commandos have peaked in price in the states yet nor in Aus. Keep in mind though, a commando her, say 10-15 years ago, $4000 for a good one. Now, at least $12000. That is exponential growth. I just don't see it stopping. Prices have come down a little as you guys in the states keep selling them for $4000 for a runner. People buy them, ship a container load to Aus, put a new set mufflers for $150 and a new seat $200 on em and flog them for $12000+. Shipping cost at say $1000/bike if not less then you have a tidy profit.
There are bike shops here, I mean that's all they do. Cruise the states for 3 months collecting old bike for next to nothing. I don't agree with it necessarily but it's a living I suppose.

Yea , Dk , Dont think a Honda 250 is the best thing to Drop a Norton engine in , for JAW . Best Dunstall is a DUNSTALL , if someone wants a DUNSTALL .
AND the ALLOY Barrel is LIGHTER , could do with one myself . :wink:

The first modern multi-cylinder stepped piston engine, designed by Bernard Hooper whilst Chief Engineer of Norton Villiers Ltd. The engine was 500cc capacity producing 42 BHP at 6500 RPM, achieving a mean top speed of 103.15mph at the MIRA proving grounds. Group Chairman, Dennis Poore, insisted that the basic engine should be able to allow for a 750cc unit from the same engine block. This means that the 500cc unit shown is of course much larger than it would otherwise be. The air cooled Wulf shown above was further developed at BHE Ltd as a liquid cooled Wulf II unit in the interests of creating a low emissions two stroke engine with greater efficiency. The Norton Wulf, Wulf II, Norton 76 (new Commando replacement) and EURO50 (50cc entry level bike) are currently on loan to the National Motorcycle Museum at Solihull in England.

I kbow folks who have been bringing containerloads of bikes in from the US for over 20 years now. I'll have to let one of my Ducatis go soon, and I would be suprised if it didn't end up Down Under, where demand seems bouyant, to say the least.

Just think of how much actual motorcycling you could have been doing if you hadn`t blown so much [on] smoke...you could have even learned to ride in the wet yourself.

I am dedicating some of what my old man has recently left to me on doing a rational attempt at a Commando, but your stay in the realm of virtual fantasy will require significant extraction of the digit from a fundamental orifice for you to make any meaningful headway in the world, frankly.
Just think of how much actual motorcycling you could have been doing if you hadn`t blown so much [on] smoke...you could have even learned to ride in the wet yourself.
