I've found the instructions for putting up avatar once control panel tagged but I can not find the control panel from tagging the site index per instructions.
Hand holding help needed again.

It's under the board index top left under the norton commando logo, next to your pm's at least on my browser. Then profile tab, edit avatar 3rd down
 
good visual / practical advice for those who sleep with their motorbikes is to replace the leaky petrol taps before smoking in bed.

I just tried to replace mine following the instructions to a tee.
It keeps telling me the URL is no good?

No-one else appears to be having any problems as far as I know, and "the URL is no good" doesn't tell us anything, so it's difficult to say what could be wrong?

yes I copied the entire URL including the http:// etc.....
I get an error mesage url unrecognized by the forum site.
I'll try again

You need to copy and paste the "direct link", not the "HTML code"or the "img code" but the "direct link".
 
I grabbed a photo off webshots but to get the URL. I had to tag the resize icon for 200 pixles then grab the direct link that brought up. Apparently must 1st have the photo in a public site to get a direct URL to function. Essentially its the same as posting a photo to general posts - just done in mail box inside the box provided.

Still don't know how to enter my PM from main forum - so have saved PM alerts in my regular inbox to tag to take me to mail box here. Can ya get into PM from forum?
