Hi,

Can anyone identify my cam for me. I have plotted the graph and hope it is timed OK. No idea what it is though?

Regards

Nigel

Thanks for the reply.

At TDC I have 0.175" lift on the inlet. Does this sound correct from a timing perspective?

max lift: In .391 Ex .348

Thanks

In my mind, the unique opening/closing ramps of your profile narrow it to either the 2S or 4S lobe. You may be able to sort it out with the specs given at the link above, by "johntickle", but sometimes a given cam in a given engine will not reproduce the cam design specifications very accurately.

Take a look at David Comeau's Norton cam site at the link below.

Far down on the list of figures he has a section titled "Comparisons". In this section there is an overlay plot of 1S, 2S and 4S lobes so you can get a feel for the subtle differences between them.

If you provide the data set to me electronically in .xls or .txt format I will overlay it with a 2S data set I have and we'll know for sure if it is or isn't a 2S. By process of elimination, if it is not a 2S lobe we would infer that it must be a 4S lobe.
