Anyone personal friends with "Mr. Rick" from Sacramento?

I mailed him my Smiths instruments book 13 months ago as a loan so he could use it for reference while he was rebuilding one of his instruments. Anyway, He doesn't seem to log in anymore (since february) and I wanted to get my book back for my own rebuild.

If anyone knows him personally and could give him a ring, I'd appreciate that... Thanks...
 
Been wondering where he went as well. He was. Very helpful to me on multiple issues and even sent me a brake lever without wanting any payment.

I'm sure he would be returning your book if he knew of your need.

Can you send him a snailmail request? You must have an address for him to send the book.
 
Yes, I do have his snailmail address. That's the next step I'll take. I thought maybe he had a real life norton friend here to give him a "head's up"...
 
It happens you go out of your way to help others or lend things to make things easier and then not to have the things you lend come back and the worst offenders are your trusted mates, but we still do it.

First, I hope Rick is ok ,... ya never know with most of us not being exactly youngsters... I've recieved a lot of help from site members, and have been treated really well here. Lending a book to another member is part of paying that back. I'll send him a snailmail message. I thought someone here who is local to him might be a friend, and could give him a head's up...
 
Probably just an oversight. Life happens and we forget things. I'm guilty myself though I try my best not to be.

That's another great thing about the folks here..... There's minimal smoke and flames with most issues handled as gentlemen. I guess everybody is just too old and worn out to fight......
 
When I joined the forum about two yrs ago, Mr Rick seemed like a daily visitor. Been all quiet from him since this past February. And strangely my private conversations with him were disappeared from my list about that same time.
