Cycle Gear in the US has a Megaboost Battery Maintainer MB1000 Lithium+ on sale for $60 (reg. $70). They say, "one charging solution for all battery types." If it does Lithium correctly as well as the other types equally well, then it would seem like a good charger to have. I don't have a Lithium battery now but could in the near future. When I Google it looking for a reveiw, I get nothing on it period. Does anyone know anything about this battery maintainer at all? Thanks, Jim

This unit and others like it (Battery Tender, etc) are good for led acid batteries, but for long term storage maintainance, they put out too much juice to keep LiPo healthy. Lead acid have a much higher discharge rate and these units keep them up.

The LiPo holds there charge for 10 time or more longer and for storage they like a much lower charge. When its time to put them back in service, the LiPo chargers are switched to bring them up to operational charge levels. Otherwise they are in storage mode.

If you are going to use a Lipo, go to ebay and you can save $10 or so.

FWIW, I have added the three phase stator and reg/rec so to help support my shorai. I don't travel far and my times on the bike are around 50 to 100 miles at a time, some times less. If I was on the Highway for extended periods or on all day runs It might not be so needed. Even so, I think a 3 phase system should be minimum for a LiPO choice.

don't know about the megaboost but but i can tell you that this one works great. i have it on a 12 volt standard battery, and a 12 volt shorai. i also used it on a 6 volt shorai. it charges it just fine but i don't leave it connected for more than 24 hours.
