MK3.....removing left side crank bits.
I am having a lot of trouble removing the inner race #06-5820. It normally slides on and off but it feels glued onto the crankshaft. Any ideas how to make it budge?
 
Heat, use a small blowlamp like the ones sold for cooks. line the inside of the sprocket recess with a wrap of tin. If that fails use a bearing puller to get behind the sprocket and pull the lot off. Many years ago the first time i pulled the sprocket off my first Mk3 i used a three legged puller, gripping onto the rim of the sprocket.
 
I ground down a 1/4” aluminum bar to chisel shape, and kept gently tapping between the bearing and the crank until it worked its way loose. Had to keep reshaping the point to keep it sharp, and it wasn’t as brutal as you might think. After owning my Norton for forty or so years, I’ve learned that necessity is the mother of invention.

A bearing separator will edge its way between the crank and the bearing. After you tighten the (four) bolts to edge in between, you then tighten the extractor to pull the bearing off. If the bearing doesn't want to move, leave the extractor tightened and gently heat the bearing race a bit with a propane torch. You will likely hear a noise when the bearing suddenly moves.
 
This problem is unique to the MK3 because of the e-start. The part I'm looking at is recessed into the sprocket so I can't get behind it. I hope too get a 2-jaw puller behind the sprocket but it's very close. I'll be trying to pull the sprocket off the taper AND pulling the stuck part off at the same time.

I think several responders mistakenly believed, as I did, that you were trying to remove the drive side crankshaft in main bearing race. I (we) didn't look up the part # you gave us to realize that you were talking about electric starter main shaft bearing.
