Late last summer Trixie's KS made a grinding/rubbing sound w/o transmitting torque to start the engine but not like prior worn out ratchet clinking stripping sounds. Worked fine with easy step on once past TDC, [not kick down] to start just prior to failure w/o a hint of lurking trouble. Found slightly 'normal' rounded ratchet edge but not enough not to ratchet, then I saw how ratchet was hung up-fouling against one of the steel stop plates so it would not release to engage inside 1st's inner teeth. Ugh, top one show below is both bent down below plane of its mate and has a chewed up engagement face. Those plates are robustly steel riveted on so don't know the fix but to replace at this point. What would the Gods of Nortondoom do?
