I have a new Amal 930/301 carb for my 68 BSA and I'm trying to figure out if it has the correct pilot jet. Book says to use a # 25 , I don't even see a 25 listed on Amals site for the replacement ones for premiers. This carb was originally set up for a Triumph Bonny but I have the correct Main & needle jets and and ordering the # 3.5 slide do I also need a differant pilot jet or do the numbers for premiers differ from the old bush style???

I got the info I was trying to get about the new numbers Amal is using for the " removable " pilot jets in the premier carbs from Peter Quick of bsaunitsingles.com ( very helpful man & great place to shop for these bikes, w/super fast shipping) it turns out the # RJ17 listed on the box of my new 930 carb body is = to the "old" #25 bush type jet... I had assumed something like that would turn out to be the case but just wanted to know so I had a reference to go by. I haven't fryer it yet as I'm now doing the "clutch modification " milling the lip off the clutch center that allows for one more flat plate & one more w/friction tabs on one side & smooth on the other to make the clutch less prone to slipping. Glenn.
