Somewhere here I read about removing, and replacing the pilot circuit blanking plug. I remember there were a few different methods discussed.
Can't remember specifics,and now that I need it, I can't find it!
:?
Help!
Cheers,
Bruce

Thanks, L.A.B., The Bushmans website has been on my favorites for awhile. Lots of good info on there, but it seems to me like someone on here had a method I liked better. Should have paid more attention at the time,I guess.
:D

I've had great success opening up clogged pilot jets by using the "twist tie" from a bread wrapper. Just take a match to it to burn off the paper/plastic and go in through the air screw hole. I recently measured the wire with a micrometer...0.0165". The wire is soft too so it shouldn't damage the jet. That and a can of carb cleaner will usually get a low speed circuit to operate again without even having to pull the carbs or even the float bowls. Leave the strings on your Banjo.

Hope this helps,

Amal did and hopefully still sell blanking plugs. I've only changed a couple, I can't remember the exact method of removal, I think you just put a dent in the centre of the plug and it falls out. If not punch a small hole in the plug you should be able to leaver it out.
Replacement, I'm sure I put a thin film of Locite on the sides of the new plug, pushed it into the hole and using a punch tapped the domed head flat.
Grief! brain fade getting worse.
