Hi,

I have amal MK2 carbs. I am using #25 pilot jets. I have had the pilots screwed into the float bowl, and am going to change them to the carb body. Which is the correct place for pilot jet on a Commando?

If I use the carb body instead of the float, should I blank the float hole off or leave it open?

Thanks

Jerry

Jerry,
As you have had no reply, I had a look at:

http://www.hitchcocksmotorcycles.com/am ... nc_ht.html

"There are two alternative pilot jet locations; the one in the float bowl is generally considered best for four stroke engines, that located in the body beneath the air tube usually best for two stroke engines. This is not a hard and fast rule and the reverse may sometimes be the case. Irrespective of engine type, when the carburetter is mounted in a down draught attitude, the pilot jet should be placed in the mixing chamber body."

That located bebeath the air tube .........

Hope this helps.

I tried relocating my pilot jets to the carb body in my MK2's. I also verified my float levels.

It seems to idle better.
