so a question i've not been able to find a clear answer to. When checking the float heigh on amal's, i push down on the tabs NOT the needle but how hard/soft do i want to push down on the tab? should i be pushing lightly until the tab stops, or just until the needle stops moving? Here are two pictures displaying what i'm saying, the first is me pushing the tab until the needle stops moving, the second is me pushing the tab until it stops moving (but not crushing it down with a ton of force) you can see theres a big difference in the two i'm just not sure which is correct.

the second picture is the correct method and it shows also the right level.

Man those contracting bright greens and blues and such could make riding danergous. As stated just put minimal sealing pressure on the float needle. Its common practice to tip upside down, though fiddlely to hold shaft in right. Amal manual says fuel level should give 1.5 turns of pilot Air screw for best idle, though that's merely an ideal to shoot for and not needed for perfectly fine behavior.

I just try to simulate the buoyancy force that the gas exerts on the float and apply that for the level test. It ain't a lot.
