Am I crazy?

As winter is setting in here I have been thinking of things to do that don't involve going over to the shop. It's not possible to go over there once the kids are home from school. So after some digging around I thought Motorcycle models would be fun. I haven't built any models since I was a kid. Tamiya has a nice line of kits. And there are up upgrade detail kits for them. I like the Hondsa NSR500. I found a fork detail kit and a sprocket chain kit. Have a look at the instructions for the chain kit, scroll down to the pictures.

Now am I crazy thinking it might be fin to assemble a 1/12th scale chain, link by link?

Still looking for an affordable Commando kit, $250 seems a bit rich.

Yes - it doesn't sound fin at all.... (sic !)

BTW, is this thing going to actually run ?
You can buy those little RC cars that you assemble, with a gas engine.
They look to go like scalded cats - if you can find a suitable (empty) carpark to run them on.
With no neighbours within earshot...
The electric ones look like a more children-type activity, although equally speedy ?

Don't do it! It's a gateway hobby to old age. I know a guy who's into slotcar racing, his old lady is always trying to put the moves on me...

I have a bunch of RC cars, airplanes and Helicopters. I'll get back to them in a few years when my boys are older.

I was looking for something to do at the kitchen table that wouldn't upset the misses.

I'm getting tired of watching TV

Or a regression back into childhood.... ?

Polishing the cutlery, or doing the dishes, probably gets more brownie points. !
There is always polishing Norton bits...

Got any interior remodeling that you need to do? That'll keep her happy and you busy. Or you could just go antiquing?

I miss childhood. This whole being an adult thing is nothing like the advertisement.

There is always remodeling work, I have 4 doors and frames sitting to be installed along with a bundle of trim.

The real problem is I can't do it while the children sleep, it wakes them. Then no one is happy.

Sounds like you're getting old, sad, and crazy to me.
