I was looking at the recent how-bad-t22157-45.html thread that you referenced and it seems that the Wassell rotor has the centre pushed through. Pretty hard to tell exactly due to the overall damage.
The spacer in that thread is 'by the book' and appears to have shim(s) between it and the sprocket which pushes the spacer out over the rotor key. My early assertion that the spacer should be lip to rotor is supported in that thread.
I have a new primary o-ring on order and will look at, measure and photograph my sprocket-spacer-rotor set-up when it arrives.
