Stunning! Simply stunning. Well done. This is a great example of what happens when one really puts an effort into a project. best I've seen in a long while. *I like the new/old carb/air filter setup. Too cool!

Excellent job JD!
Love the carbs, that gets the brain gears turning.
Great attention to detail in this build of yours & the colour is superb..
Hope you enjoy riding & owning this beautiful motorcycle..

Regards
Sweenz

"CONGRATULATIONS" Jeff on an absolute beautiful build! Attention to detail takes time and money. Love those FCR's and Im assuming thats a Pingel two into one filter, home made bracket for the oil pressure gauge? Also would like to see a before shot of the bike. Any of those photos would look good on a calendar and a great contender for the best build!

Thanks, it was definately OCD on this. Home made bracket yep. I moded the Pingle 2 into one filter , I fitted a banjo fitting to get a tighter more direct routing.
Here's the only "before" shot I have. I was so focused, I didn't take many "during" shots, just the gas tank after I painted it.
The wheels are both Morad / Akronts, to answer an earlier post ( added the yellow/silver foil sticker aftwards).

really an amazing job. congrats!
Would only be cautious saying 'All done..." when dealing with British irons.
I once said 'I'ts now finished' after an extensive rebuilt with my BSA some years ago -just to realize soon after that it was just the beginning (of the fun)...

Love the graphics foxy! caught my eye you old dog!!

Stunning bike, congratulations on an outstanding result.

The paint and polish just add to the impact of the original look, and the upgrades blend into the styling so well. I'll bet it's a great ride.

Fabulous, what rims are those?
Regards Mike

Not to speak out of turn but the front and rear rims are Akronts per the decals on them in the pic.

Me thinks this one is a runner too! The look and detail are a given. One fine piece of work.

Beautiful machine, very good work.

But whats this? I had no idea that therewere carbs other than Amals that would fit with the stock air cleaner. Are those keihin flatslides?

Eyes decieve....yes Keihin FCR Flatslides, but on the air filter.... I cut the perferated metal surround by about 3/8" and found a shorter K&N filter, but I also applied some tricks on the manifold side. About 1/8" off of the end of each manifold and using spigots from Sudco for a Yamaha Raptor instead of the ones supplied with the "off the shelf" kit (that gave another .25" off the length). I also used my own rubber connector. That gave me a total of about a 1/2" shorter runner length (we'll se how that translates into any noticable performance offset). After everything installed, I probably could have gotten away with the standard thickness air filter and perferated surround. Plenty of room to r & r the filter.

What is the box on the front down-tubes of the frame?Oil cooler? Also, what breather system are you using?Very nice job !!

Thanks.
Breather system is Jim Commoz's Sump Reed valve conversion. Realy a nice system.
Yep, you guessed it, that "box" is an oil cooler. A Lockhart with a thermostat. Originally for a Harley, but mounting bracket fabbed/modified to fit the Norton.
