Need to get the center stand on so that I can fix the starter oil leak and so it will take up less space in my garage. Uh, because I don't have enough room for another bike.

the center stand is off for a REASON, if it is ridden aggressively it will drag and lift the rear wheel!!!

Here's a good one: http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/ ... Stand.aspx
I have no experience with these bikes, but the picture would be more telling if the rear suspension were compressed.swooshdave said:...I assume you're not familiar with the Alazzurra center stand but you can see here that if the center stand hits the ground you have way bigger problems. .. :|

SInce the centre stand pivots somewhere near the swing arm pivot compressing the rear will lever the stand closer to the road. At least that's how i rationalised it on my Multistrada before upgrading the rear. Grinding centrestands must be a consistent Ducati design feature.
I reckon by the time it scrapes Graeme, you've fallen off and are sitting on the side of the road cursing! Well maybe that's just me and my wussey riding capabilities.GRM 450 said:i just looked at your stand fitted.
Maybe just change the pedal bit to the same as a Pantah, I've never heard of a Pantah stand digging in. They scrape, but that's over a fair way too.

Want me to grab a piccy of mine Dave? I think you could trim it back a bit and have a left-over pedal to bung on some other project.

this shot is looking straight down on the stand from over the seat:
(Even managed to find an imperial ruler for you.)
Can grab some other angles if it's of any help.
Yep, that looks about right. Probably the same assembly, just with that strange pedal welded on instead of the ball.swooshdave said:The width between the feet would be great. I had someone measure it at 12in from the outside of the feet on his Ally, wonder if it's the same on the Pantah.
