Air Valve (Choke) Question

Installing a set of Amal Premiers...

I can't find anywhere a guide on proper setting of the air valve. My plan is to adjust the cable slack to sync both sides to go up together, and ensure they are fully raised when the lever is fully engaged. Any issues with that?

You should find the information in the top section under technical information sticky. search for Amal carb info.
You should be able to adjust each cable adjuster on the top of the carb (rear ones). Loosen the nuts holding both tight and turn up or down the air valve cable adjuster so they both go up in sync when turning the air lever on the handlebars. This takes out any difference in length between the two cables from the junction box that is pulled from the single cable at the bars. Once they move together then tighten the nut back up. The two cables should then move together as a pair.
