No, but thanks for checking.

1) The spare Pazon for checking the system didn't materialize; that engendered a 3-week waiting period.

2) My wife and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary August 7th, which meant lots of celebrations and activities. I'm typing this from the shores of the Neuse River above Beaufort, NC, where I am laying back watching ospreys, herons, dolphins, crab boats, and USMC aircraft from Cherry Point. I'll be back in the shop next week!

We just had our 50th on August 14. Spent it in Cape May. We are headed to Iceland in late September to hopefully see some aurora. My wife is the traveler. I usually stay home with the cat.
I have a Pazon Altair ignition around here somewhere that you can have. Will go on a search.

"batrider" has sent me a spare Pazon which just arrive in the mail on Saturday.

I have to make about a 200 mile ride to see a cousin who is very badly off in a nursing home tomorrow. Hopefully I can unbox and try the new-to-me ignition in the next few days.

Also, as a reminder, keep the switch off as you bring it over TDC. THEN make it hot and kick it like you mean it.
 
Now you got me a little worried. This bike being a MkIII with an electric start, I've never even tried to kick-start it.

Is the Altair logic not as smart as an AAU and retards the spark for starting so it doesn't bash back on one's knee or (worse) break the sprag clutch in the starter? Why would an electronic ignition with advance logic built into it not fire at the right time and at low kick-start RPMS?

Inquiring minds that don't want to break starter gears want to know!!

I have a Pazon and an electric start and it has never, ever kicked back
 
Well yes but the analogue or the digital? Altair is the digital. Surefire is the analogue. Surefire never kicks back.

Edit: and the analogue is a lot cheaper too!
