A most interesting occurrence

I rode over to a local restaurant for there Taco Tuesday lunch with some friends. As I was parking a local Sheriff Deputy pulled up, he was also meeting friends for lunch. He asked about the Norton and where it was made. I told him England and he said that he had inherited a BSA. Had no idea what year or model but said it had been his grandfathers then his fathers and now his. Gave him my number and told him to give me a call and I would try and help him. He said the BSA hadn't been running in about 2 years and had a fiberglass tank. Is there a good replacement for fiberglass BSA tanks?
Met a new friend while out on my Norton, cool!

Depending upon the model, some BSAs ended up with steel tanks as replacements/alternatives.

Many different classic BSA steel tanks can be made to fit across various years. Some take a bit more fiddling, and they are not inexpensive due to demand...

Aluminium tanks do not rust and look racey. The BSA sounds as though it might be a Lightning or a Spitfire. They had fibreglass tanks which looked like Gold Star aluminium racing tanks, but were red..
