Man that's some kind of bad luck there, I've not had a fire on any of my bikes ...yet ( I guess it's like what thay say about some things.... there are those that have and those that will ). This has made an impression on me and I will take more precautions,,,maybe I'll keep more baking soda on hand , more than just what is in the fridge, ... hell, you can always clean your battery terminals with it too. Again sorry for your trouble, but thanks for posting it. Cj

My heart dropped about as far as my jaw when I saw the photos.......
If anyone on the forum has a wife at home that says they don't show there feelings enough, or that they have never seen you cry, show them this thread.

Cheers bro....... She was a beauty, and will be again shortly I imagine.

What a nightmare. It might be a long shot, but try calling your insurance company if it had it...

I remember seeing my BSA c15 go up in flames on the side of the road. sorry man..

A bad day ...

P!! stil had points where God intended right under the Amal tickler drippings. I almost died one day blowing out a fire at gas pumps on cement. Hint start at bottom and work up not the other way. I've saved more than one fellas bad day because I carry extinisher. Almost lost Trixie when bad head gasket blew and combustion jets almost cut through the factory fuel line before I found spot to pull off. I am so done with K/N filters and so is my buddy Wes. I've had Peel's extingisher on a shelf waiting for years now, just in case.

Here's some forum thot's on what to pack.

Sorry for your loss. I need to get some extinguishers.

This is also a call to stop those leaky needle jets and fuel taps.

Bugger!
I had that happen to me with a Suzuki GS1000S except the cause was a cigarette butt on top of the cover thrown from a window by a young recruit who then felt my boot up his Butt!
I'm taking note of all the possible answers to the cause and think I'll look for a small extinguisher for the tail of the JPN.
