I've searched for the earlier threads relating to this aspect but have not been successful in locating them. Perhaps LAB can combine ?
My nosing in the factory UK registration returns showed that all the Mk3s up to engine 332322 - Frame 132694 - (an Interpol sent to Lancashire Constabulary in June 1975) had non-matching engine and frame numbers.
There is then a gap in UK returns until 332718 in July 1975 (also an Interpol but this time to Norwich) and thereafter, matching numbers seem to have been the norm. Presumably, the machines between 332322 and 332718 were sent overseas and the change occurred somewhere in this range.
Just out of interest, the highest Commando numbers registered in the UK were two Silver Interstates, 336538 and 336539 in the name of Marston Road Engineering on 29th March 1978.
